Bradford PA Appeal To Fans To Help Boost Promotion Push

Bradford Park Avenue have appealed for help from their supporters - to fund a National League North play-off push, writes Steven Coney.

Avenue bounced back from their disappointing FA Trophy exit at the hands of lower league Stourbridge by winning 3-1 at Alfreton Town on Saturday.

It was their fourth straight league victory and moved the club up to sixth in the National League North table.

Boss Mark Bower, who was November's Manager of the Month, praised the travelling support at Alfreton and Avenue have now appealed to fans to dig deep.

Principal financial benefactor Gareth Roberts is covering the club’s running costs but the rest of the directors at the Horsfall Stadium are looking to strengthen Avenue’s play-off chances.

Directors have already signed up to donate to the cause and are proposing that fans donate as much as they can on a weekly or monthly basis or as a one off payment towards the new ‘Players Fund’.

All donations will be put aside to allow boss Bower to strengthen his squad ahead of a testing second half of the season.

A bucket will be available in the Club Shop at the Horsfall Stadium for supporters who want to contribute but can’t afford a regular donation.

A total of £1,000 has already been raised and any fans wanting to help out are asked to email director Dave Stordy (davestordy@hotmail.co.uk) or telephone on (01274-512989) with their offer.
