Brackley's Part In The Christian Pulisic Story

He is the latest huge money Premier League buy after opening the January transfer window by becoming Chelsea’s £58 million new signing.

But did you know Christian Pulisic actually fell in love with English football at Brackley Town?

The Blues’ big money capture played for a year at the club when they were working their way up through the Southern League.

The American was brought up in Pennsylvania but in 2005 he got the chance to move to the UK when his mother Kelley arrived on a teaching exchange in 2005.

Aged just seven he starred in the club’s youth team before heading back home.

National League North Brackley loved having him around - it’s just a shame they won’t get a cut of the money which will see him move to Chelsea from Borussia Dortmund!

"A lot of people don't realise but it really brought on my passion for the game,” Pulisic said to the Daily Mail three years ago.

"After school every day, I was just out for hours in the park, playing with my schoolmates.

"That's really where my love for the game started to come alive and that was a big part of my development.

"I just started to love it so much and I said: ‘Wow. I'm pretty good! I think I can do something with this game’.”
