Boxing Day Preview: The National League North

By Tom Scott

We've got a real Christmas Cracker ahead in the National League North on Boxing Day!

The fixture computer has thrown out some huge games as our clubs look to put on a show.

The North West is arguably where the day's biggest game takes place when Altrincham make the short trip to Stockport County.

Alty have been in inspired form of late and will look to continue their promotion charge with a win against Jim Gannon's men.

Southport have every chance of a win on Boxing Day despite being 16 points behind their opponents.

The Port are the team to beat at the minute and face a recovering Chester side.

There's another huge six-pointer at the top end of the table too.

Alun Armstrong's Blyth Spartans are back in front of the Croft Park faithful.

Spennymoor Town are the visitors and both will be looking to their respective fine runs of form.

Curzon Ashton got a credible point away Kidderminster Harriers last time out and will look forward to a huge clash with Ashton United.

Alfreton Town showed their fighting side against Stockport County at the weekend.

They travel to Boston United looking for their first win in three games.

Nuneaton Borough travel to AFC Telford United looking to restart the Ginnelly revival while Guiseley host Bradford (Park Avenue).

All Brackley Town want for Christmas is three points but their in-form opponents Leamington might not be in the mood for giving.

A long overdue win for York City will set them up perfectly for their trip to Darlington.

Chorley's form has been like a rollercoaster in recent weeks but they remain in contention for top spot.

FC United of Manchester are without a loss in two games and will be looking to put a distance between themselves and Hereford.

The Bulls winning run came to end at the weekend but and will relish Kidderminster Harriers coming to Edgar Street.
