Boxing Day Bonanza In National League North And South

By Sam Elliott

There’s a Boxing Day bonanza ahead and the festive fixture compilers have thrown up some huge National League North and South games with local matches a plenty.

With things thrilling in both divisions, there’s some Christmas crackers coming your way.

Some huge crowds are expected as the final games of 2024 bring rivals together - and there’s plenty of National League North scores to settle.

It’s always eventful when Hereford and Kidderminster Harriers collide, and this year they’re both gunning for promotion.

Leaders Curzon Ashton will be wary of the chasing pack after the weekend’s results. They’re at home to Farsley Celtic, while Scunthorpe United travel to Peterborough Sports needing to find some consistency.

There are some great all north-west games in store. Southport face Warrington Town and Marine meet Chester, while in the north east, goals could be on the menu as Spennymoor Town take on South Shields and Darlington tackle. Scarborough Athletic.

The game between King's Lynn Town and Needham Market has importance at both ends of the table.

Just four points separate eighth place Eastbourne Borough and National League South leaders Torquay United.

So every matchday is clearly big - and December 26 is no different. The table toppers travel to Weymouth, while two contenders meet as second place Truro City play host to Weston-super-Mare.

Free scoring Dorking Wanderers are finding form at just the right time, they challenge Worthing but nobody is playing as well as Maidstone United right now.

It’s a Kent derby at Tonbridge Angels, who have collected ten points from a possible 15.

Local rivalries resume as St Albans City visit Hemel Hempstead with a west country derby between Chippenham Town and Bath City even more interesting after Darren Way took over at the Romans.

It’s sure to be a brilliant Boxing Day!
