The Avenue won at Tamworth on the opening day but back-to-back home defeats against the two newly relegated sides, Southport and York, have followed.
It was certainly a day to forget on Saturday for the Avenue, who were 4-0 down after just 32 minutes.
And with the fixtures coming thick and fast, Bower is set to make changes to his side for their trip to Spennymoor Town. The Moors didn't play on Saturday after their coach broke down on the way to Boston United, but they have won their two games following promotion.
Bower said: "They’re a bit of an unknown quantity having just come up,” Bower said.
"But I’m less worried about them after Saturday because I’m thinking if we play like we played against York, no matter who the opposition, then you’ll definitely lose.
"We will make changes and I expect the players to turn up and put in a much better performance than on Saturday.
"You are going to have ups and downs during the season, especially in this league as it is now, so we have to pick ourselves up and go again."
