Bower Impressed With Desire But Not The Performance

Bradford (Park Avenue) boss Mark Bower was thrilled with his side's injury-time winner against Ashton Untied but said his side have work to do.

Bower's side looked to be heading for a surprise defeat - going two goals down inside the first 20 minutes.

But three goals in the final six minutes of the game saw the home side complete an incredible turnaround.

Speaking to the club's YouTube service after the game, Bower said whilst it was good to get the win, the performances need to be better.

"I don't really know what to say after that," he said. "We didn't play well, we gave two poor goals away and it was difficult then to come back.

"Once they got the lead they sat in and made it really tough for us and that was frustrating.

"We've not played well in our last two games but we've got four points. Some would say that's the sign of a good side but we've got to play better, no doubt about it.

"The quality of the performance wasn't great but I can't fault the desire near the end to get that result for us.

We'll enjoy this tonight but we've got work to do this week and we'll look forward to the game next weekend."
