Bromley's Andy Woodman is already fed up with injuries, even with the new season just days old. Defeat at FC Halifax last time out only added to the agony and he hopes fortunes can change in front of the cameras.
Barnet boss Dean Brennan’s big problem was how his side gave him some twitchy moments, even after going 3-0 up against Hartlepool United on the opening day.
After both enjoying great seasons last time out, they’ll want to put down an early promotion marker at Hayes Lane in a London derby.
Woodman said: “Without making excuses, it feels like right now we have more injuries than we've had since I have been at the club. We’re going to have to make the squad stronger, we’ve got five or six not involved and it’s tough.
“We were comfortable in the first half against Halifax, but we started slowly in the second and we were the victim of our own mistakes.
“The goals we conceded weren’t really us. Once you go two goals down it’s hard to break teams down. There’s just no easy games in this division.
“I’m not happy with losing but it’s a long old season. I just want us to start looking like the team I want us to look like, starting against Barnet,” he told the club’s YouTube channel.
Woodman wouldn’t mind having to deal with Brennan’s complaints, a late lapse in concentration made it less comfortable than it should have been on day one.
“When you go 3-0 up, you need to see the game out better than we did. It was a bit of a lack of discipline,” he said.
“I was delighted we won the game, delighted with the three points and three goals but I’m a little bit frustrated. We’ve got to do better defensively.
“We try not to give the players any excuses, we want to show off their personalities a little. My job is to bring everyone together and to make sure we’re all going in the right direction.”
