The Pilgrims lost 2-1 at AFC Telford on Saturday meaning they've now only won once in their last nine league games.
They sit just one point above the relegation zone and Murray knows it's time for his side to stand up and be counted.
"We looked solid at times but we didn't look like we had enough threat going forward," he said. "We never really looked like we were going to score, that's been the issue for most of the season.
"It's disappointing because of the last few weeks we've made some massive strides from where we were.
"There's a lot of things we need to improve on and a lot of good things. We need to understand now that this is a season of building and get our tin hats on because the league position doesn't look great."
