Boss Weaver Demands Much More From Harrogate

Simon Weaver says he expects much more from his Harrogate Town side when they travel to Billericay Town in the FA Trophy on Tuesday night.

The National League North title chasers lead 2-1 on Saturday thanks to a Joe Leesley double but Adam Cunnington’s equaliser means the two sides will replay in midweek.

Big-spending Billericay look nailed on for promotion from the Bostik Premier and Weaver gave his side’s visitors plenty of credit.

But he knows his side must improve if they want to book a place in the FA Trophy quarter-finals - and catch Salford City in the National League North.

When asked if Saturday was a missed opportunity, Weaver told HTTV: “Perhaps, because we were at home and we expected so much more from the performance.

“We had the chance towards the end that hit the inside of the post but I think they deserved a draw and we look forward to having another bite of the cherry on Tuesday.

“We are looking for a better overall performance where we get the ball down and are a bit more slick with it.

“Hopefully we can right a few wrongs on Tuesday. We won’t change what we’re about. We know what we’re about - we just need to do it better.”
