Boss Smith Urges Bromley To Learn Their Lesson

By Steven Coney

Bromley boss Neil Smith has urged his team to start learning their lessons and tighten up at the back.

The Ravens lost 2-1 at rivals Ebbsfleet United on Boxing Day after conceding twice in the first half.

Smith’s side also had to fight back from behind in the recent draws against Macclesfield and Eastleigh.

Bromley are still only two points adrift of the top seven but the boss is clear that their defending must improve - and quickly.

“I don’t think we’re learning our lessons and we’re getting punished,” Smith told BFCtv.

“I told the boys that we need to start being tighter but we let two soft goals in (against Ebbsfleet).

“We huffed and puffed but you can’t keep having first halves like we do. You can’t keep fighting back from goals down and we need to get back to being solid.

“I know we’ll create chances and score goals but we’ve got to tighten up defensively and that includes the midfielders and forwards too.”
