It was a clear victory for the Gulls on Tuesday night against Hemel Hempstead, a win that sees them go four points clear of second-place Woking.
Johnson admitted after the game that he was encouraged by the performances of both teams on the night.
"There were parts of the game where Hemel showed what they can do and that’s good for us because they’re going to playing some of our rivals," he told TUFC TV.
"But the four goals were absolute quality and it’s that quality that saw us through today.
"we’re a force to be reckoned with when we play like we did today."
The Gulls have suffered just one league defeat since September under Johnson and are on course for a National League return.
The boss remains cautious however and knows his side can't afford to celebrate anything until the end of the season.
He said: "The fans can get as carried away as they want but we all know at the end of the day that there’s a long way to go
"We’ll keep our feet on the ground and we won’t let anybody that is getting carried away carry us away with them."
