The Ammies are back in action after a two-week break and know they could return to the top of the National League North with a positive result.
It’s also a big game for Tamworth. The Lambs are winless in their last seven games and have slipped to 19th in the table.
Due to the big breaks for both sides, Johnson doesn’t think much can be taken from Tamworth’s recent poor run.
“We’re really looking forward to it, it’s been a while – for most sides in the league – but it’ll be nice to get some competitive football under our belts,” Johnson told the club’s website.
“It’ll be a tough game. I think every game is a tough one but they’ve not won in seven, they’ll up their game because they’re against us, but we’ve got to start well, we’ve got to start bright, we’ve got to set our stall out from minute one, and try to get an early goal.
“Form goes out of the window because nobody has played for so long, so you can look at games before as form but because teams haven’t played recently, it changes that.
“It’s given us an opportunity to work on a few things so it’s been good in that respect. The squad’s looking strong and healthy.”
