Boss Bates Puts Hartlepool United Fans On Red Alert

Hartlepool United fans could be in for a busy week or so if manager Matthew Bates’ comments are anything to go by.

After signing free-scoring striker Niko Muir on Friday, he is ready to cause waves in the transfer market over the next ten days.

He says no fewer than four new players could arrive by the end of next weekend - and that will have supporters glued to their phones.

We’re all comfortable with the way things are progressing on the recruitment front,” he told the Hartlepool Mail.

“Sometimes there are days when the phone doesn’t ring and then other days it’s non-stop but that’s just the way it is.

“There are conversations going on at the moment and hopefully imminent deals to be done.

“Hopefully, over the next week to 10 days we can have another two, three or even four through the door.”

Muir scored 40 times for Hendon last season and Pools paid a fee to take him to the north east.
