The Ashton United boss watched his side fall to a 3-0 defeat against the Step 4 club on a day the newly-promoted side will want to forget.
They begin their National League North season against Nuneaton Borough on August 4.
Banim didn’t hold back as he told Ashton United TV some players won’t be back for the final 13 days before the new campaign kicks off.
“It wasn’t up to scratch, it was awful,” said the manager.
“Defensively we looked poor and that would concede a lot of goals. There are plenty of questions but not many answers.
“A lot of players maybe played themselves out of contention, it was very disappointing.
“After results like that it can make you want to go out and look for more players, but what it can’t do is that we don’t rush into anything. I’ll go away and think.
“But there will be players leaving because of it. It’s nowhere near good enough.”
The issue for Banim is he knows the quality which lies in wait over the next eight months.
“No disrespect for Trafford but they are a team two leagues below us and they deservedly won the game,” he said.
“It is a bit of a concern right now. We are going to be coming up against teams much strong than Trafford so we’ve got some big decisions to make.”
