The 22-year-old signed for Justin Edinburgh’s men last season from Colchester United and is highly coveted by Orient.
“This lad has been a breath of fresh air,” Edinburgh told the National League on the eve of Orient’s clash with Salford City.
“He recognises we are right behind him and he appreciates the platform Leyton Orient has given him to score the goals he has. Keeping him here is great news for everyone,” he added.
Bonne has already opened his account this season and told the club’s website that he is confident that staying in East London is the best decision for everyone.
“I’ve had the summer to sit down and talk to my family about it, and the right decision is to extend,” he said.
“It’s the feeling of being loved and wanted somewhere. It is the right decision to stay here and try and continue my performances this season.”
Justin Edinburgh added, “I’m absolutely delighted that we’ve secured Macauley for an extra year. First and foremost, I want to thank the Chairman Nigel Travis and the Board for resisting what were some serious offers for him through the summer.
“We were transparent with Macca and we told him we wanted to keep him and that he had unfinished business at the Club and what has been refreshing has been his attitude, which has been first class and that has shown in his performances this season. I look forward to working with him into 2020.”
