Bond Returns to League Ranks

Chorley announced that Andy Bond has left the Vanarama National League North club to return to the professional ranks with Sky Bet League Two side Crawley Town.

When Bond joined the Magpies his signing was a major coup for the club as several other side were vying for his signature, but living in Wigan, Chorley was his local choice and he has thoroughly enjoyed his time at The Chorley Group Victory Park Stadium.

Prior to becoming a Magpie, Bond’s last competitive games were in the League Two play-off semi-finals for Stevenage against Southend United.

Stevenage lost 4-2 on aggregate with Bond playing in midfield in the first leg than at right-back in the second.

Part of the condition for him joined any non-League club was a release clause to allow him to peruse an opportunity to return to the Football League should one come up.

Crawley initially made an approach for Bond during the January transfer window but couldn't complete the deal at the time due to them being in the process of being taken over.

Bond turns 30 in March so this is potentially his last opportunity to further his League career.
