Bolder Got What He Wanted As Ferriby Go Down Fighting

North Ferriby United boss Chris Bolder says the 1-1 draw against league leaders Salford City showed the fight the side have shown as their relegation was confirmed.

After picking up just two wins and eight draws this season, the Villagers fate was sealed after last night's result, writes Tom Feaheny.

Despite going down with seven games to spare in recent weeks results have improved despite a heavy loss to Darlington the last time around.

“I’m obviously delighted with the result. The players showed a lot of character to bounce back after Saturday," Bolder said.

“We gradually got on top and their goal came against the run of play."

While next season they will no longer play in the Vanarama National League North, Bolder says the performance against Salford showed what the group of players who were brought together in recent months has.

"We did that well. We were strong going forward and kept our shape defensively.

“James Nicholls’ equaliser was fully deserved. The result shows the progress we have made."
