Body Blow For Poole And Highly Rated Striker Roberts

Poole Town and their striker Luke Roberts have suffered a major injury blow following the results of a scan on his knee.

Dolphins manager Tom Killick took to Twitter last night to inform fans of the bad news received earlier that day.

The 23 year old forward looks likely to miss the Vanarama National League season after an appointment with a specialist.

Speaking about his initial reaction to the injury he suffered, Roberts said: “The pain initially was excruciating."

It seems there is more to his injury than first feared and Roberts can now except a lengthy spell on the sidelines.

Killick described the player as one of the best in the league before his injury - and posted a message on Monday night informing everyone of what had happened that day.

He tweeted: "Devastating news for luke Roberts our thoughts are with him a brilliant player loved by everyone at the club he will be back better than ever."

There is no exact prediction for when he will return to playing.

Poole are back in action on Tuesday night and they are hoping for three points following this set back when they play Chippenham Town
