Wilkinson’s squad crashed 5-1 at the Woodspring as the new boss chases his first win as manager.
The manner of the loss left fans very frustrated and the former Hungerford chief said sorry.
With two home games in 48 hours this weekend, Wilkinson knows it’s time to make amends and set their home record straight in the process.
“I apologise to all the fans that travelled three hours to get to the game,” said the Stones manager.
“We’ve come away from home to a team in the bottom three and got absolutely spanked 5-1. Now there better be a reaction on Saturday.
“I want to say it how it is: we were terrible but it’s only one game, let’s move on and we’ll work harder tomorrow, Thursday, Friday and get a win on Saturday!
“We’ve got two home games now. The home record is a shambles so we need to turn that around right now but everyone at the club has got to get back to reality,” Wilkinson told the club’s official website.
“I’ve heard people say we should be a top five side, on paper we should but we’re not and I’m not going hold back on that any more, we got to get back to basics and start winning games of football.”
