Blues Mean Business As They Make Rather Grand Signing!

Chester could mean business next season if their latest signing is anything to do by.

The Blues have had a productive summer as they have lifted the gloom of relegation.

On Friday morning they gave their supporters a pre-weekend lift by announcing the signing of Simon Grand.

The experienced defender has agreed terms with the Blues as they look to make a play for promotion from the National League North.

The 34-year-old was a key part in the AFC Fylde side who earned a top seven finish last season in their first year in the top flight.

A former Barrow and Salford centre-back, Grand scored in their play-off eliminator against Boreham Wood.

Joint managers Anthony Johnson and Bernard Morley hope the signing will bring added security to their backline.

Chester begin the new season at home to Spennymoor in two weeks’ time.
