Birmingham Pair Loaned To Solihull Until New Year

Youngsters Connal Trueman and Dan Cleary have joined Solihull Moors on loan from Sky Bet Championship side Birmingham City until January 2nd 2018.

The move will allow the highly-rated pair to gain competitive experience with the Moors.

Trueman (pictured) has been with Blues since joining the club's academy in 2007 and has progressed through the ranks to become a regular with the under-23s side.

The 21-year-old stopper has yet to make his first-team bow but has appeared on the bench as an unused substitute on several occasions.

Earlier in the summer his performances for the Development Squad were recognised with him being given a new three-year contract.

Speaking after penning the new deal, Trueman told the club`s official website: “I think next season is a big season for me. It’s time for me to start playing competitive men’s league football.

“Hopefully that’s at Birmingham City, or it could be going out on loan – that’s something we’ll have to look at. But it’s definitely time for me to really kick on and play in that first team environment."

Meanwhile, central defender Cleary is a more recent Blues addition, having joined the club in the summer of 2016 after leaving Liverpool.

The Dublin-born Republic of Ireland under-21 international made seventeen appearances during his first season at Blues, scoring twice, and impressed sufficiently to have a one-year option on his contract implemented in the summer of 2017.
