That is the view of a clearly relieved Billy Heath, who manages the Watch Match Highlights Here.
It's been a low key start by Town who have found goals and points hard to come by so far.
Halifax, the Vanarama National League North playoff winners back in May, did register their first victory at Solihull.
Heath hasn't been unhappy with how his players have performance in previous games. They lost to Dover and Aldershot at home but picked up useful points at Barrow and Chester.
But fans craved that vital first win although Heath hinted that they got a little lucky with it.
"That's our first victory and we're thrilled with it, but it was the worst performance out of the five games," the Town manager claimed. "That's how it goes I guess.
"It wasn't our best display but it was a clean sheet and, more importantly, a win.
"I think we needed that," he continued. "We have been playing quite well and not getting much reward but we got a break.
"It's a relief. We just wanted that first win and now we have it."
Halifax will want to make sure they get their second victory of the season straight away.
Their game with Guiseley on Saturday afternoon is live on BT Sport and the manager is keen to make an impression.
"It's not added pressure as such but we don't want to let ourselves down," Heath said about the weekend match.
