Billericay Bring In Sutton’s Lafayette To Enhance Title Bid

Striker Ross Lafayette has joined Billericay Town’s National League South title pursuit.

The targetman has left Sutton United after manager Paul Doswell agreed to the switch.

The former Dover Athletic and Aldershot forward joins the league leaders and is eligible to play in the FA Cup this weekend.

“We had an enquiry from Dean Brennan at Billericay with regards to Ross, and have agreed to his immediate transfer,” Doswell told the club’s official website.

“Billericay have offered Ross a really good contract which includes a deal for next season and an option for a further year thereafter.

“At this moment we were not in a position to talk with regards to next season.

“Ross was a big part of our success last season and was a pleasure to work with, and this opportunity is perfect for him as it allows him to work as a recruitment manager during the day and train in the evenings. We wish him all the best for the future.”
