The new Blues boss saw his side put in a dominant performance to beat Maidenhead United 2-0 for their first victory at the Swansway Chester Stadium in 2017.
An early goal from Ryan Astles was followed by Ross Hannah's second half penalty to give Bignot the perfect first day in the office.
"The challenge now for the players is to turn it into two wins from two," he said.
"Looking at the first game all you wanted is that first win for the supporters but the manner of the win with a performance that mirrored the result is very pleasing. I'm absolutely delighted for the players and supporters and everybody connected to the football club.
"The supporters are going to be crucial going forward. I think we've got four games at home in our next half a dozen and today they were superb. Hopefully they've seen the way we want to play.
"Sometimes there's going to be some misplaced passes but it's going to be positive and with a purpose. I'd have loved to have played out there with that support behind us."
