Bates Nabs Nobel As Midfielder Signs On The Dotted Line

Hartlepool United have made what could be one of the signings of the summer as they pulled off a transfer coup to land Liam Nobel.

The 27-year-old left Notts County in the summer but is widely regarded as one of the best midfielders in League Two.

Pools manager Matthew Bates has done enough to convince the former Forest Green man to join the National League club.

He is the club’s fifth new signing of a busy close season so far.

Gateshead’s Paddy McLaughlin and Hendon’s 40-goal striker Niko Muir put pen to paper at Victoria Park last week.

As did defender Andrew Davies, who returned from Scotland to play for the club.

Their first summer signing was Myles Anderson and he joined United from Chester in May.
