Bates Gets Some Backing As Singh Sticks By His Boss

Matthew Bates has been backed to turn things around at Hartlepool United as the team's form takes a tumble.

The manager and director of football Craig Hignett have been publicly supported by chairman Raj Singh.

They have now not won since early October and really need victory at home to AFC Fylde on Tuesday night.

Now in an interview with the Hartlepool Mail, Singh has thrown his weight behind his manager.

“There is a trust there,” said the club’s new owner.

“Both Matty and Craig’s track record speaks for itself. I think we have the right people at the club to keep building, pushing in the right direction.

“At the moment it is important we see how the lads we have brought in settle.

“When that process is over we will see whether we need more players and if we can move others out.”
