Barrow Proving They're No Soft Touch Now

Ian Evatt believes his Barrow players no longer have the soft centre they were accused of having.

The Bluebirds’ 1-0 victory at promotion chasers Solihull Moors underlined their improvement.

It was the club’s fourth win out of five and point number 13 from a possible 15.

In an interview with The Mail, Evatt paid tribute to his team and says they’re really proving their critics wrong.

“The most pleasing thing for me is that earlier in the season we were labelled a soft touch,” Evatt told them.

“We were labelled a pretty, nice football team, but we were soft. We ain’t soft anymore.

“To keep five clean sheets on the spin is outstanding, but we’ve stood up to everything that they’ve thrown at us.”

He added: “These hadn’t conceded a goal at home for five games, they put you under pressure, they hit long balls into bad areas and it’s difficult to defend.

“I thought we deserved to win and I’m really proud of my players.”
