Barrow Appoint Ogden As Head Of Football Operations

By Steve Whitney

Barrow AFC have announced that Paul Ogden has been appointed as head of football operations.

Ogden previously held the role of chief scout.

Managing director Andrew Casson explains the reasoning behind his appointment to the new position: “As we all saw at the fans Q&A event over the summer, Paul Ogden is a respected and experienced man in football and the club are lucky to be able to call on him to carry things forward.

“Continuing to build and manage a squad during the season is a big job, and having Paul Ogden managing things will give Paul Cox the freedom to focus on the season at hand and myself to focus on on the business side of things.”

Ogden has a wealth of experience in football and has managed his home-town team, Leek Town, on six separate occasions over a forty-year span.

He has also managed at Northwich Victoria, Kidsgrove Atheltic and Witton Albion.

In addition to this he has an unmatched scouting network and has worked as a scout for Mansfield Town in addition to the Bluebirds.
