Blair Turgott’s winner gave the Stones all three point at the EBB Stadium - but Waddock is still wondering quite how they returned to Kent with the win.
“I don’t think I have been involved in such a one-sided game in my career,” he told BBC Surrey.
“The record books will show that Maidstone won the match 1-0, but for anyone inside the ground they will know that is not the story of the match.
“The players played very well. They win more games than they lose if they keep doing that.
“They didn’t get into our final third much but they’re going home with three points, so they’ll be delighted.
“The came with a game plan and executed it perfectly.”
Shots travel to Hartlepool next and Waddock added: “It’s a difficult one to take on the chin. If we were poor or outplayed then it’s easier and you an accept that, but we were good.”
