The luckless Tranmere Rovers winger posted an emotional message after cracking his knee cap on his return from cruciate knee ligament damage.
It was low point on a great night for Rovers after beating Leyton Orient 2-1. This afternoon they host Chester in a big local game.
Tollitt, who has been fantastic since signing for Tranmere, has told fans this will only end his year and not end his season.
He said: “Injured again. Nothing to do with my old injury. I am completely over that. No problems with that at all.
“This injury is a weird one. A freak and just back luck.
“Small crack in my knee cap from a bit of contract. Things like that can’t be helped or prevented.
“January, 12 weeks, and then I am back for the start of the New Year.. This is just a bit more bad luck put my way but my luck will change soon.
“I will come back and be a better player AGAIN! You can’t have a rainbow without a bit of rain.”
His manager Micky Mellon said: “He’ll be out for another twelve weeks. I’m gutted for the boy and he’s gutted himself, but he has the character and determination to comeback.
“At least it wasn’t the knee that was the injury. That’s fine and intact. It’s just one of those freak things that happens in football.”
