Aspin Takes Positives From Point Gained For Gateshead

Gateshead boss Neil Aspin says he was satisfied with their draw against Ebbsfleet United.

The Heed are currently sixth in the table and got another point on the board after a 0-0 draw, writes Tom Feaheny.

Aspin told the club's website why he was so pleased with what he had seen.

"I certainly felt that it was a point gained, against a team who have not lost since Christmas, they are a flexible side who works hard on and off the ball.

"We worked hard and defended well, I think when you are picking up points away from home whether it's one or three it is positive. I'd expect Ebbsfleet to do well this season because they put us under pressure."

Aspin next faces his old side FC Halifax Town at the Gateshead International Stadium and he knows that the defensive battle will be key.

"We now move onto Halifax which will be another tough game, as they are yet to concede away from home and we are yet to concede at home so something should give and hopefully it will be their record and not ours."
