Armstrong Wants To Boost Darlo Even More After Nine Deals Already

Alun Armstrong has already signed nine new players for Darlington - but he's nowhere near done for the summer just yet.

Armstrong replaced Tommy Wright in the Quakers' hot seat after leaving Blyth Spartans last month.

He's since been working hard on reinforcements, a number of which have followed him from his old club.

But if you thought nine was fine for the ex-Ipswich Town striker, you'd be wrong.

“I still want one or two players if I can," he told the Northern Echo. "I would like three in, but finances will dictate that.

“I don’t want to blow the money too early because it’s the fans’ money and I want to protect it."

He added: “It’s ongoing - loans will probably happen in the last week before the season starts."

Darlington open their 2019/20 National League North campaign against Farsley Celtic on August 3.
