Blyth so far have three wins and four losses from their seven matches, and lost to the top of the table side on Bank Holiday Monday, writes Tom Feaheny.
Their next game sees them face AFC Telford United another side who have nine points from the opening seven games. Armstrong spoke to the club's website about the positives he wants to take into that game, he told Blyth Spartans official website.
"For me we were the best team on Monday, we were done by a sucker punch and we didn't react enough, we went for it, we have played the team who are top and put in a good performance.
"We have just lacked that bit of quality going forward, we tired to break them down, we needed to be a little bit cleverer with the ball, I hope we can do that at Telford."
Armstrong believes his side are still getting adjusted to facing full-time sides in the league.
"There are full-time teams, certain things become second nature when you do it week in and week out, we have to adapt to that but I still think they were outstanding."
