Are City Slickers Or Slackers? Stringer Wants Answers!

Rod Stringer wants the real Chelmsford City to now stand up.

The Clarets’ boss doesn’t know which side will turn up week-on-week at the moment.

National League South City were dumped out of the FA Cup at home to lower league Worthing at the weekend.

Stringer was upset at the manner of the defeat with the Essex club desperate for another cup run.

Chelmsford’s league form isn’t any more conclusive. They scored six at Hungerford recently, won at Wealdstone and put five past Hemel at Vauxhall Road but their poor home form is holding them back.

The manager said: “It’s difficult to know what you are going to get from us.

“Fair play with Worthing. They have came and had a go but we have let in two goals in an area of the pitch we are strong usually.

“We didn’t take our chance and I have to say some of them let us down a little bit.

“We need to show what we’re about on a more consistent basis.”

They get the chance to address their poor home form when St Albans City travel to Melbourne on Saturday.
