Another Young Hatter Joins Oxford City On Loan

Oxford City have announced the signing of Kavan Cotter from SkyBet League Two side Luton Town on loan for the rest of the season.

Cotter (pictured) is primarily a right-sided midfielder, who can also play in other positions in midfield and defence.

He has made a couple of appearances in the EFL Trophy for his parent club in the last two seasons, scoring in his only appearance in the competition this year.

He has spent a lot of time on loan at Evo-Stik League South side Hitchin Town this season, making thirty-four appearances in all competitions in all of his spells there.

City manager Mark Jones is delighted to be able to welcome him to the squad, telling the club`s Pitchero website: "Kavan is a player who we’ve been monitoring for most of the season. He’s been out on loan at Hitchin and done very well. He can play in a number of positions, he can play on the right wing, at right back or midfield. I just felt that with Christian Oxlade-Chamberlain going back to Portsmouth that perhaps we needed to bring someone in to keep the squad motivated and competitive. We do need competition for places to keep everyone hungry.

“We thank Luton for allowing him to come to us, Kavan is looking forward to working with us and we think he’s a good player to come into the squad."

City have also agreed an extension of defender Frankie Musonda’s loan deal from the Hatters which now sees him stay at City until the end of the season.

He has impressed in his first five games for the club, with wins in all of his first four appearances, keeping two clean-sheets in that time.
