Harfield is the second player from the Cherries to join the Wood so far this season, following striker Joe Quigley’s arrival earlier in January.
The forward thinking left-back was awarded his first professional contract in the 2015/16 campaign, following a succession of impressive performances in the development sides. He has since signed a fresh deal, with the Bournemouth hierarchy seemingly rating him very highly.
The 20-year-old spoke of his excitement at joining Wood’s promotion push, telling the club`s official website: “Yes I am delighted, and I can’t wait to get started, I was really looking forward to coming down.
“I think that it is important at my age to play games and get out there and put my name out there, so I am delighted.
“Obviously I know Joe Quigley, who signed a few weeks ago, and he was a big part of me coming here and I have heard good things about the Gaffer and the club, so I am really happy to get going.”
Harfield began his career with Southampton, spending seven years in their academy set-up.
He has already made his debut for Bournemouth, against esteemed opposition in AC Milan, featuring in Warren Cummings’ testimonial.
His second appearances for the Cherries was against La Liga giants Valencia, and he has previously spent time on loan with National League South side Poole Town.
On what he can bring to the side, Harfield stated: “I can play anywhere down the left-hand side and I love going forward.
“I have got a lot of energy, going up and down the pitch for 90 minutes, so I can get good crosses into the box and be up and down all game.
“I am new to this level, but I recently played at Poole Town in the Conference South and hopefully I can give it a good go.
“Obviously, as a team, the aim is to get promoted into League Two, and on a personal note, I want to play games and play well and who knows where it can take me”.
