Ammies To Host Celebrity Charity Match At Moor Lane

A charity match between `We Love Manchester and `Once Upon A Smile` is to be held at Salford City`s Moor Lane.

The game will be played on Sunday 24th September with a 1.30pm kick-off , contested by an Ambulance Staff XI and a celebrity side.

The celebrity side will include the likes of Tom Turgoose, David Dunn and former Ammie Richie Wellens.

Joint Salford City managers Bernard Morley and Anthony Johnson will also take part, going head-to-head as player-manager of each team.

Gates open at 12pm, with food, drink and other entertainment on offer before kick-off.

It is recommended tickets are bought in advance from www.onceuponasmile.org.uk/salford, although they will be available to purchase on the day if there are any left.

Adults: £4

Under-18s: £2

Under-5s: Free

Emmerdale star Danny Miller (who plays Aaron - pictured), captain of the `Once Upon A Smile` celebrity team said: “It is an honour to finally confirm that this game is taking place!

“We all know how hard our emergency services work, so to come together and create a very special day for something I am incredibly proud of is great.

“All of the celebrity players taking part jumped at the chance to be involved and every credit to those behind the scenes putting this game together, including a massive thank you to Salford City for allowing us the use of their facilities.

“I would encourage people to come down and support what is going to be a truly brilliant day”.
