Ammies Starting To Understand The National League

Salford City manager Graham Alexander believes his side are getting their heads around the National League challenge.

Saturday’s dramatic 3-2 win over Chesterfield saw the Ammies pinch the three points in the closing stages.

It was the title favourite’s second win in a row after seeing off FC Halifax Town in midweek.

“It’s a good end to a really great week for the club,” he told the club’s YouTube service.

“The players have got their minds around what the challenge is at this level and we have picked up six very valuable points.

“All I can say is that the character and the mentality of the team to come back like that against a good team who through everything at us is fantastic.

“You aren’t going to play well every game so any team at any level needs resilience and we showed plenty of that.”

“We were disappointed to let the lead slip twice but we came back strong and showed what we have here.

“The goals we scored were of really good quality.”
