While much of the talk over the summer was of well backed full-timers Torquay United, Yeovil Town and Maidstone returning, the names enjoying time at the top of the tree include Aveley, Weston-super-Mare and Worthing.
After fierce panel debate, the Manager of the Month eventually went to the Rebels’ Adam Hinshelwood.
Worthing finished top of the table with five wins from six, and that was helped by some brilliant away wins at Torquay, Slough and Dover. They also beat Tonbridge and Weymouth at home, and managed to keep four clean sheets in August.
Hinshelwood said in the summer that he hopes any lingering regret from last season can help power the club to another famous season and it certainly doesn’t seem like there’s any kind of a hangover from their play-off heartache.
The Player of the Month accolade was just as tough to decide and after serving notice in the second half of last season, Scott Wilson has carried on his cracking form.

The 30-year-old attacker has had no fewer than 16 clubs in his career and after 24 goals in all competitions last year, he now wants a promotion to go alongside her personal achievements.
Finding the net twice against Hampton & RB, he also scored against St Albans City and Dartford.
Jerry Gill is happy to be one of the sides not well tipped this summer and after starting September superbly, it won’t be long before tongues are really wagging about Bath!
