Alty were consigned to a second season at National League North level after losing to Chorley on penalties in this season's play-offs.

And Phil Parkinson has been hard at work to tie down a number of the club's stars, Densmore included.

The 30-year-old admitted he didn't have to think twice about extended his decade-long stay at Moss Lane.

"It was a no brainer for me once the gaffer spoke to me," he told the club's website.

"We probably exceeded our expectations with how we did in the end last season, but we’ve got a lot to build on for next year and a lot of positives we can take into next season.

"I don’t think there’s any clear front-runner so there’s everything to play for and if we can get a good pre-season under our belts, we’ll be looking to give it a good go."
