Allinson Says The Promotion Race Will Go Down To The Wire

St Albans City boss Ian Allinson says it will be a case of teams missing out on the play-off places with fans to get behind the team in the final push for the play-offs.

Now in fourth place after a victory at Concord Rangers, they are just three points clear inside the play-off places, writes Tom Feaheny.

Tonight they travel to Weston-Super-Mare knowing a win would help them stay in the play-off places.

"It is going to go down to the wire, I think, you look at how close it is, we know the importance of getting an ugly win here or there," Allinson told the club's YouTube account.

"We have a lot of young lads who are learning, we can see that, it is important we can continue a run now."

The St Albans boss believes Clarence Park will be key to them getting into the play-offs.

“We’ve got nine games to go, four at home. We have Poole next week, who will be dragged back in it if they’re not careful, Whitehawk, who are already in it, and then Braintree who could go level with us if they win, plus Hampton which is going to be difficult,

“And it’s going to be a tough run in so if we can pick up as many points as we can now it’s going to help.

“There is going to be lots of twists and turns. But if we can win our home games and draw the away ones, we’ll get in the play-offs.”
