The Chesterfield boss said his players showed courage in the second half despite going down 3-1 at the Proact.
The Spireites haven’t won in ten in the National League and all but two of those games have ended in defeat.
Number eight arrived last night as the situation worsened but the manager was more upbeat.
“We net in bad goals at poor times, but I do think we showed great courage - the second half performance was good and it had a lot of positive moments.
“Of course ultimately it’s another bad night, but it was an improvement on Saturday. We were better in a lot of areas.
“The problem was individual errors. On Saturday I was really angry and upset, but this was more encouraging in the second half.
“It’s still not good enough, don’t get me wrong, but at least the fans can see we’ve had a go.”
