Alexander: This Division Was The Hardest Ever!

Graham Alexander has praised the standard of football in the National League as he prepares for Salford City's EFL debut.

A first visit to Wembley for the Ammies ended in a fine win over AFC Fylde and with it promotion to the EFL.

And while his side were tipped by many to do just that, Alexander praised the quality of the National League.

"This is my first experience of the National League and the standard has been exceptionally high," he said.

"We had a tough game against Eastleigh and it was another tough game against AFC Fylde but I’m delighted to do it this way.

"This step is the most difficult one because there’s only one automatic spot.

"Having said that," he added. "I think we deserved to go up with Leyton Orient and I’m delighted for everyone that’s seen his club rise who were there from the start."
