The Ammies' boss wasn't happy with the way his side reacted to going in front against Gateshead on Saturday.
He told the club's website that all the talent in the world means nothing if they don't see games out.
"We made the mistake we've made a few times this season at home and took our foot off the pedal," he told the club's YouTube service.
"The disappointing thing is, it's not the first time it's happened and we need to address it.
"We got what was coming with the equaliser just before half-time. We've given them a lifeline and then they've defended well second-half."
"This is what happens when you don't respect the game or the opponent enough," he added. "You think you can drop five-percent and get through.
"The talent and organisation is all there but we have to focus that fully for every single minute and see games off."
