Aldershot Boss Waddock Hoping For Shots Reaction

By David Richardson

Aldershot Town are out to right some wrongs tomorrow after their unbeaten run came to an end at Boreham Wood last Saturday.

The Shots held a 100% record after three games but a late Maidstone United equaliser ended that before their first defeat of the season came at the Wood.

Sutton United knocked Aldershot off top spot and now manager Gary Waddock needs a reaction from his side, that he criticised for not working hard enough in last week's defeat.

Chester are the visitors at the EBB Stadium tomorrow.

"The players know the levels we need to get to and they've done well last season and this season with the high energy and work rate that we get through during games," he told the club's website.

"We dipped below that last week and as I've said all along, they'll be told if they do - and they were. They've taken it on board and hopefully we can see a reaction Saturday.

"It's a reminder for everybody that we have to be bang on it to get ourselves results. If you work hard, and in fairness to the players they have done from day one, and we've had a couple of occasions where our standards haven't been where we'd have liked them.

"We just reminded the players on Monday what we're looking for. Nobody stops you working hard and running apart from yourself."
