Ainsley Wants The Same Again As Spenny Win Thriller!

Spennymoor Town maintained their 100% record in the Vanarama National League North with a dramatic victory at FC United of Manchester - and manager Jason Ainsley loved what he saw.

Last year's Evo-Stik Northern League play-off winners have taken to National League life superbly.

A home win against much-fancied Stockport County was followed last night with a stunning 3-2 triumph over FC United - watch match highlights from last night's game here.

Kallum Griffiths put the away side ahead after 14 minutes and then Andrew Johnson added another, although FC United pulled one back before half-time through Jason Gilchrist.

Daniel Wisdom equalised for the host just seven minutes after the break but Glen Taylor's goal for Spenny after the hour mark won it.

"If that's the standard of football each week then you're in for a treat!" said a delighted Ainsley to the club's website. "I thought it was an end-to-end game, every time we went forward I thought we were going to score.

"They were dangerous and played some great football. It was a joy to watch. Going forward in the first-half I thought we were electric.

"Last year we'd have probably folded. Coming here, an intimidating atmosphere, a great setup - to concede so early in the second half, it was a tough for the last 30 minutes.

"It could have been 7-6 or 6-6, it was a great advert for the league. To come to this great stadium and put in a performance is delightful."
