Ainsley Praises Best Ever Season With Spennymoor

Loyal Spennymoor Town boss Jason Ainsley thinks this season has been the best he's ever had at the club.

The Moors finished in their highest-ever league position before losing on penalties in the promotion final to Chorley.

It was a defeat that stung for Ainsley but when the dust settles, he knows they can look back and be happy with what they've achieved.

"My heart is pounding with how proud I am of the players," he told the club's official video service.

"I think this season is my most memorable with the club. Not just the final but the journey to the final – there’s a lot of people behind the scenes who have put a hell of a lot of work in.

"I’m disappointed and I’m heartbroken but you’ve just got to take stock and look where we’ve come from.

"It’s not about sadness, it’s about what we’ve done for this football club. We’ve put Spennymoor Town on the map."
