A Night Full Of Drama Across The National League

By Oliver Osborn

Notts County moved to a season-high third with victory over Aldershot Town in an action-packed night across The National League.

Kristian Dennis (pictured) marked a return to the starting line-up with a brace, while Callum Roberts got on the scoresheet in back-to-back matches.

The Shots had taken an early lead, however, through Craig Tanner, but were unable to avoid a second defeat in the space of four days.

Like Notts, Barnet also gave their play-off hopes a huge boost with a 3-1 win at top seven rivals Woking.

Paul McCallum continued his hot streak in front of goal by delivering the opener, which was followed up late on via a Josh Walker double.

Woking remain level on points with seventh-placed Solihull Moors, and Barnet sit just a point behind with three games in hand.

A huge result for AFC Fylde away to Dagenham & Redbridge has rekindled life into the Coasters survival mission.

Alex Whitmore scored deep into added-on time, leaving Jim Bentley’s side seven points adrift of safety.

Defeat for the Daggers means they remain three points clear of the bottom four. The loss ends a five-match unbeaten home run.

The biggest shock result of the night came in Vanarama National League North, where King’s Lynn Town missed out of the chance to move top after defeat by Bradford (Park Avenue).

Hereford built on back-to-back victories for the first time this season with a very credible draw at much-improving Kettering Town.

Both matches due to take place in Vanarama National League South were postponed.
