A Good Week And Moore Could Be The Man For Barrow

By Sam Elliott

Barrow’s caretaker manager Micky Moore can go a long way to securing the job on a full time basis over the next week.

That is the message being sent out by the Bluebirds’ decision makers as the Vanarama National League club prepare for a trio of matches which could shape what happens next.

On Saturday it’s Tranmere at Prenton Park before Barrow on Tuesday night have a home game with Guiseley.

Then on Saturday it’s another side going through an early season struggle, Torquay United.

A good points haul from those games and, after a brave victory over Boreham Wood the last time out, things could well swing in Moore’s favour according to the club.

Managing director Andrew Casson confirmed: “You could easily envisage a scenario where you could have a decision in two weeks.

“If Micky goes out, they put three really strong performances together against Tranmere, Guiseley and Torquay and look like the team we thought they could be, then we might come to a decision.

“If it's a bit up and down, then you might wait an extra couple of weeks.”

Barrow have been without a manager since Paul Cox resigned two weeks ago.
