The second instalment of the National League North and South wasn’t without its stories, either!
The goals flowed around the grounds as many got their first taste of being back in a football ground for 18 months.
After the dust settled, we assessed what happened on Saturday afternoon. There were plenty of talking points - as well as surprise scorelines.

Notts’ landing at the top!
Many think it doesn’t matter one bit who sits on top of the table after the opening day of the season. Some would ever prefer the standings aren’t produced at this early stage.

Last weekend in the National League North, fans’ first look at their new homes was wrecked by late winners. Boston United and York City got a moving-in present they really didn’t ask for.
Gloucester City played to a packed house for the first time at their new stadium - and we’re guessing they may want to come back some time for some more.
After a thumping 4-0 win over promotion rivals York, pictured, they may need to throw up an even bigger new stand!
The Tigers were top when the division was hauled last time out and clearly have a point to prove.
The road to glory
Nine National League matches, eight away wins.
Only Solihull Moors’ late leveller against fancied Wrexham stopped it being a clean sweep.
Wasn’t it supposed to be during behind-closed-door Covid times that home advantage was knocked on the head?
One thing is for sure, some away days were certainly enjoyed!
South fire-starters!
There’s nothing quite like leather-hitting-net early on to get strikers’ confidence up. But a hat-trick gets them looking at the fledgling scoring charts during their Sunday roast!
